Today is a good day. Dine in is allowed again, no more take aways in my hotel room. Well, maybe some, but it doesn’t have to be all 👏🏻 Tourist places, the beach, pools, gyms, gatherings and travelling over 10km is still banned but that’s ok. I’ll take a few hours in my favourite cafes for now 📷 pre-MCO 2.0
There is so much more to Langkawi than beaches, duty free shopping and bars 🏖 Don’t get me wrong, my last two visits to the island, that’s where I could be found! But I’ve had a lot of time this visit... three months and counting 😉When I’m researching a place I often just open google maps and click on pins to see photos of what is there and low and behold this magnificent Buddhist temple appeared. Carved into the side of a marble hill is a giant statue of Kuan-shi Yun, the Goddess of Mercy. I do love a good colourful temple. Well worth the visit (when we’re allowed to leave our homes again) ❤️
The past two weeks of MCO 2.0 has had me down a giant glorious rabbit hole researching and planning future trips to the former Eastern Bloc 🖤 Trying to keep spirits up that travel will at some point in the foreseeable be ok again. There has been screenshots, google mapping, colour coding, spreadsheets, oh it’s been joyful! Until then, look what I found before we went on lockdown - those lines! That concrete! The view from the top 💚 See, Langkawi isn’t just beaches, beaches, beaches 😉
Patiently waiting for MCO 2.0 to end 😻
It’s been a while! I’m still in Langkawi 🌴 I’ve been so lucky for the past 2.5 months to get out and about and explore this beautiful island. From tomorrow, we join the rest of Malaysia in another Movement Control Order. It was only a matter of time wasn’t it, we’ve been lucky to escape it so far but now the 🦠 is on the island 😢 At least this time I have a sea view and walks are allowed 🌊👌🏻
CMCO 2.0, this time I’m in Langkawi ✌🏻🌴☀️ Glad I got to finally visit the Sky Bridge on my third visit to this beautiful island, and before tourist spots got locked down again. Now, I shall sit back, relax and enjoy the view for the next month. Stay safe everyone x
