Down on the beach there were always blue skies in #Maui 🌴 Head into the mountains and there’s this mystical Jurassic feeling with all the mist and clouds 🦖
I wonder what’s hidden amongst this splendid garden along the #RoadtoHana on #Maui ? A #subterranean lava tube formed over 960 years ago 🌋 Descend down the stairs into the lava formed corridor which stands 30ft high. Armed with a high powered torch from the visitors centre you can explore half of the cave which includes lava stalagmites, cinder floors, a bowling alley, cow bones and a ‘room’ of stalactites which looks like a room full of upside down Hershey Kisses. My favourite discovery was the “fallout shelter” signs (because you know I love a nuclear bunker) but I’m not sure how this would work. The entrance and the blowhole where the lava would spurt out of can’t be covered.. 🤷🏼♀️ who knows what’s in the second half of the cave, apparently privately owned.. maybe that‘s where the real secret survival rooms are? 🧐
From farm to plate 💚 Thanks @millhousemaui for the impeccable service, food and those stunning views 🙏🏻

This years travel theme so far seems to be one remote island after another 🏝 Flying from Australia to Hawaii over the start of my birthday ended up making my birthday 40 hours long. Hawaii is 20 hours behind Brisbane. 20! Ridiculous! What a beautiful place to celebrate 🌴🦜🌋🌺
I finally found my happy place in #Bali Taman Festival abandoned amusement park was glorious. Apart from walking round the forestry areas with the overwhelming sound of cicadas and then suddenly a large branch just magically breaks off the top of a tree & crashes in front of me 👻😬 Luckily I didn’t come across the 🐊 pit otherwise I would have been 🏃🏻♀️ out of there. Glorious ruins and ever changing #murals, if you dare close your 👀 you can even hear the sea lapping up on the beach close by.
